Anti-Existence Energy
Also known as AEE.
A type of energy produced when the 'Zero Element' absorbs surrounding matter/energy/particles.
Although researchers in the 3rd realm thought that they could harness this energy safely, a disaster forced them to end all research on the AEE immediately.
Long before the collapse of the 7th realm, the barren and chaotic lands surrounding the fortresses of the 6th and 7th realms had often become the choice hideout for various outcasts and miscreants. In the harsh frontier where only the strong survive, many a misguided and power hungry soul had come to pursue the greater of the forbidden arts. Be it pure magecraft, alchemy or technology, they all heeded the call of Darkness and Chaos.
Among these people, there was one who tried to summon a God. The source of all evil, he called it. What came to him instead, was a mindless black giant of premordial Chaos. It is suffice to say that the monster was eventually defeated by group of heroes backed by the realm's vanguards.
The madman who summoned it ? -nothing more than a stain in the monster's teeth.
In the aftermath of the incident, an investigation team discovered a rather strange artifact left behind at what was the site of the summoning. A large chunk of jet-black substence encased in magical crystal, about the size of a football. The object, seemed to be continously absorbing energy from its surroundings, but at the same time releasing an even greater amount of energy in an infinite cycle. On the team's return from their assignment though, the object was lost in a bandit raid.
Within only a few weeks from the raid, the mysterious object resurfaced in the 5th realm.. being sold off as a valuable artifact. It was named the "Ambasa", and with that name came a fabricated tale of how it was found from the ruins of a temple dedicated to the one whose name symbolizes chaos. Nrvnqsr Chaos. The object had since repeatedly changed hands, from nobles and collectors to mages and alchemists. It rarely belonged in one place for more than a few months, spawning various rumours of curses and evil at work. It wasn't until several years later that it ended up in the hands of a researcher from the 3rd realm.
Experimentation with the object that the scientists now label the "Zero Element" soon commenced. Several weeks passed without event, and soon it was determined that the object to be an excellent source of energy if properly contained. The result of their extensive research was to be named 'Anti-Existence Energy'(AEE). Although there were still unknown factors, the researchers could not back down from the possible advances in technology that await them in this new subject. A prototype of an AEE reactor saw its construction almost immediately. Soon, however, the reseach ended abruptly.
Perhaps it wasn't meant for to be used as an energy source; or maybe it wasn't something for man to have messed with at all. A disaster befell the research center before the reactor saw completion. None of the researchers could have predicted it, in fact they called it an 'impossiblity'. What was a managable energy source at first, became the center of destruction. A large part of the surrounding landscape had mysteriously 'disappeared', and what was left of the research center was overrun with mindless creatures of chaotic origin.
The disaster was later named "Cascade's Fall", after the head researcher who brought the "Zero Element" to the 3rd realm. Despite this however, rumors have spread of a man continuing research on the AEE with newfound success. Cascade seemed to have disappeared from the scientific society all this while. Could he have found someone willing to fund his research ?
..or is he nowhere invovled in this?
Nothingness
In the beginning it was nothing more than a chunk of the empty, vacuum space that originally exists outside of the realms' barrier. For a chunk of such a thing to be able to find its way and exist inside the realms was somewhat of an impossibility. Gaea couldn't expel it, and thus that piece of 'nothingness' was assigned a new meaning and concept by the realms' reality system; something that it never had in its original home, in the sea of empty space.
The fear of all that is sentient;
the possibility of death beyond death
The return to premordial chaos.
Nearing the Void.
When the 7th realm vanguards first came across it, they branded it as a new, strengthened Chaos. While it wasn't too far from the truth, that was a fatal mistake on their part. Chaos was nothing more than what accompanied the Nothingness. Pure Void was not possible within the reality of the realms, thus the Nothingness returned Life to it's original form.. the premordial Chaos.
As the Nothingness grows, so does the Chaos.
From the Chaos, Fear spreads among the realms.
The Fear in return feeds the Nothingness.
Eventually all shall return to Chaos.
What comes next, you ask ?
If I somehow manage to see the outcome, then I'll let you know.
BL-tan
Type-BL. A avatar given birth by the world after Evospace left.
Considered a divine-spirit class, but is normally only at a holy-spirit level power.
Originaly was a fairy in the form of a cat, but after living with the great artisan Segata for a long time, she took on a form very much like humans. A lot seemed to have happened in between her life as Segata's child and her life as a mercenary in the Sixth Realm. Segata supposedly left her alone and disappeared one day. Although that was pretty common with his absent-mindedness, that time he just never returned. The town they lived in was attacked by an evil warlock's army not long after and BL-tan wandered off on her own.
Her life from there on seemed to be quite harsh, giving birth to the cold, caustic character she is now. Despite all that strength and skill, she still seems to be lacking in other
worldly experience, which often leads her to do things by brute force when she's stumped. (No, not that kind of experience, you pervert)
