(Zophar Ecksington)

Character

Name: Zophar Ecksington

Class: Quasi-Healer

Forumite Name: Z0PharX

Character Code: Z0P

Physical Description

Eyes: Brown

Age: Mid-Twenties

Hair: Shortish Black, unkept.

Gender: Male

Skin: Slightly tanned. Not some pasty-white guy.

Height: Six feet

Build: Thin, weak looking.

Clothes: Wrinkled white lab coat, littered with stains (coffee and otherwise), black shirt underneath. Plain blue pants. Brown hiking boots.

Attitude and Personality

Extremely rude, somewhat eccentric. Prone to extremely ineffective violent outbursts. Smokes a lot. Insults people a lot. Often performs illegal surgeries in extremely unclean areas (generally earns his rent money by performing back alley abortions and other horrifying and/or immoral things).

Despite his undesireable personality, he is an expert with poisons (or more specifically, the treatment of), various disease, and has a surprisingly strong uppercut (but still weak compared to those of dedicated fighters) for someone of his build. Has neverending garlic breath, likely due to his tendancy to always be chewing on raw garlic when not smoking.

Hates self-righteous people, rich people, old-fashioned people, people who believe themselves to be above him, people with emo-tistic tendencies, people who insist upon political correctness, people with any concept of honor and/or nobility.

Talks often, but generally of nothing that anyone else wants to discuss.

"Just so you know, I am a firm proponent of Doctor assisted suicide. Since we're friends, I'll give you a 75% discount should you ever decide to go down that path. For you, it'd be a wise decision, I think."

"Honor, righteousness, order, and devotion... I bite my thumb at thee!"

"You go on ahead! I'll cover the far-far-far-far-rear!""

"I don't really carry much money, probably because I generally don't have enough to pay the GODDAMN RENT!"

"Cat ears? Just what type of God-forsaken monstrosity are you?"

"Goddamnit! We amputated the wrong arm!"

"If you don't shut your bleedin' mouth this bloody second I'll eat your fucking eyes."

Combat

Strengths, Roles

Strengths: Treating wounds/status ailments, dodging attacks, fleeing from battle, botching up operations.

Weaknesses: General inability to do much in the way of of damage.

In-depth Description: Zophar isn't a fighter. Though he often brags about such feats as killing wild bores with his bare feet, he is also known for his creative storytelling and his obsession with self glorification. When the need to fight does arrive, he does so either by swinging dirty scalpels around at people, or by delivering his signature move - The uppercut. The latter of which rarely does any serious damage.

Zophar's strength lies with his ability to cure poison, disease, and injury. Generally speaking if a treatment doesn't involve surgery, Zophar can probably do it with great success. If it does involve surgery... You're better off going to an actual hospital.

families of former patients, random assailants, and other evil-doers has forced him to develope great levels of agility and endurance. In other words, he is good at running away, and narrowly avoiding attacks.

Stats (End-Game)

Strength: Physical strength. Used directly for melee attacks. Also effects ability to penetrate defenses.

Endurance: AKA fortitude or stamina. Helps determine HP. Helps determine defence against physical attacks.

Agility: Speed and dexterity. Indirectly affects usage for ranged attacks. Directly affects ATB rate, initiative, and evasion rate.

Spirit: Resilience to status effects and curses. Affects boost from adrenaline and MP regeneration. Lessens the effect of battle fatigue. Lessens the effect of battle damage.

Intelligence: Power of the mind. Affects ability to cast sorcery. Effects ability to perform critical strikes.

Luck: The ability to avoid one's fate or destiny. Affects many things to a small degree. Affects initiative in battle.

Magic Circuits: A normal mage has 20. Aozaki Touko has 20. Tohsaka Rin, who has a strong bloodline, has over 40 (plus subcircuits). Araya has 30. Keep this in mind; I don't want to see someone with like, 200 circuits.

Equipment

Primary Weapon: Scalpel

Description: A dirty medical knife. Used in all of his surgeries, because buying more knives would require more money than he has. Because it is extremely dirty, it probably carries a great many germs on the blade. Germs that could infect those cut by it and cause them to fall ill. No distinguishing features.

Zophar carries it in his pocket.

Ultimate Weapon: Ebola-Scalpel

Description: Once used on someone with ebola. To this day, the disease clings to the blade, waiting to be introduced into a new organism.

Zophar does not carry it in his pocket.

Armor: Wrinkled lab coat

Description: Provides limited defense against coffee, paper clips, and thumb-tacks.

__Story-Relation__

Introduction to the Party

Random current party member is afflicted with some sort of super-duper turbopoison that is extremely difficult (and/or expensive, depending on preferred plot points). Investigation reveals that there does exist a doctor capable of treating the affliction that could do so both relatively inexpensively, and in secret (assuming the party would be in a situation in which being incognito would be to their advantage). Thus they search the alleys and bars of wherever for the allegedly legendary Zophar Ecksington.

When approached by BL, Zophar assumes that she wants an abortion (see above quote), but upon noticing her ears makes a rude comment (also see above). After nearly getting into a fight with existing PC(s) Zophar agrees to treat aforementioned sickly man. They retreat to his unclean apartment to begin the process. Neither Zophar nor BL (nor any of the other PCs, likely) wish to interact more than is needed until Zophar's impoverished apartment is attacked by evil forces and ends up being destroyed. Feeling sympathetic, one of the more noble-minded PCs offers to allow Zophar to travel with them both so he can avenge his pathetic hovel, and so he won't have to sleep on the streets. Noble-minded PC quickly regrets decision.

Plot-related Events

Ebola Scalpel

The party should encounter an NPC with ebola at some point. Random noble-minded PC pressures Zophar to cut the ebola-mans open and insert a plot device into their chest to cure them. NPC dies anyway (probably due to the dirty scalpel). Covered in ebola-laden blood, Zophar's scalpel gains even more horrific disease-inducing powers. Zophar vows to never carry the scalpel in his pocket unsecured again.---

Knight of Apathy

Upon joining the party Zophar dubs himself 'Apathetic Knight'. RK (as well as other _ Knights) are not amused, and frown at him. Zophar's name thus remains unchanged.

Sidequest

Finger biting action. Fuck shits.
